Rebranding a Trusted Resource Hub in Durham Region

Safety Network Durham is a trusted resource hub in Durham Region that employs an innovative model of service to best serve people experiencing gender-based violence. Their mission is critical, but it was limited by a previous brand identity and name that didn’t fully represent the care, empathy and understanding that the service brings to its clients.

Following a research and careholder engagement process, sagecomm created a fresh and relevant new brand position, brand identity, and key communications tools to help the reinvigorated brand connect with their community.

sagecomm worked through a comprehensive process to help the DRIVEN team find a new name that conveyed the power of their care model and its inherent connection. This was built out to include a new narrative position to explain the organization’s work and impact, and accompanied by the development of a beautiful, cohesive new brand which was then implemented across, print, web, and social.

The brand itself was inspired by the hope and healing that Safety Network Durham provides to individuals experiencing abuse or violence. The abstracted tulip shape signifies each woman’s unique journey, coming to a singular base point where they can receive care and help. The palette uses the color purple as its base, supported by choral and blush tones to evoke warmth, calm and peace.

An engaging website was identified as a key communication tool to ensure clients and partners could receive important safety information in a timely manner. The new site prioritized the safety of clients and made it easier to find key resources.

As part of a comprehensive marketing communications strategy to launch the new brand and help Safety Network Durham connect with clients, partners and community, sagecomm developed a multi-channel digital strategy that resulted in over 10,000 engagements with below-average cost per click throughout the campaign.
